Beach Weddings Gulf Coast

Many couples are coming to Florida to have their dream beach wedding. The beautiful emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the sugar white sand and the breath taking sunsets make for a beautiful beach wedding. In this article, I will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about having a beach wedding.
Where do I begin?
The best place to start is to set your actual wedding date. Once you have your date set then you will need to find your wedding planner or coordinator or the company that will provide your wedding ceremony on the beach and secure the date with them first.
They are typically the first vendor to book up quickly. You should be aware that weekend sunset times book the fastest between March and October.

What if it rains?
This tends to be the most asked question when planning a beach wedding. It is the worry of most brides. During the wedding season you will typically find morning or afternoon showers if there is a threat of rain. Most wedding companies will make sure you have a backup plan in place. These would include pavilions at parks, reception halls, banquet room in your condo/hotel, or a beautiful balcony at your beach house. A lot of times you may be able to wait 5 or 10 minutes until a sprinkle has moved on.

Where should I hold a reception?
There are many places to hold your beach wedding reception. You can hold a tented affair right on the beach or lawn of a park. There are many great restaurants offering wide variety of food and entertainment. Many couples will have a party at their beach house. Condo’s and hotels offer banquet rooms with in house catering. You can cater and decorate on your own at one of the many beach pavilions where your ceremony takes place.

There are many more questions, tips, and advice to be given when planning a destination beach wedding. 98% of Florida beach weddings are planned by couples who live in another state. Rely on your wedding planner or wedding ceremony provider to help guide you through the process. You will be less stressed and able to enjoy the day and all it offers.

Congratulations! We hope to see you on the Beaches of Florida!

Hair Care in Humid climate

Hair Care in Humid climate
Whatever your hair type, your hair swells and expands when it's wet and behaves in the same way in a humid climate, where the air is full of moisture. Humidity will make hair fluffy and, if it's prone to curling, it will cause frizziness. All hair types will benefit from a pre-holiday conditioning treatment in the salon to nourish the hair shafts and seal the cuticles. Preventing excess moisture from entering the hair shaft in a humid climate is key.
Hair Care for Fine hair in Humid climate
This tends to get weighed down by the moisture in the air and looks flat and limp. Just as with other hair types, you need to block out the humidity if you can. A pre-holiday salon treatment will help to reduce split ends and close the cuticles that allow water to enter the hair shaft. Use a light leave-in conditioner on your hair while you are away (apply it from mid-way down the length of your hair to the ends) and seal the ends of the hair after blow-drying with a serum.
Be careful not to use too much serum on fine hair - a blob the size of your thumbnail is more than enough, hairsprays are a great SOS option for a bad-hair day in humidity - they instantly hold down the cuticle of the hair and prevent moisture from entering the hair shaft.
Care for Curly and frizzy hair in Humid climate
Sealing the outside of your hair - the cuticle - is the only way you will minimize the candyfloss look while you are away. A pre-holiday deep-conditioning treatment is a must. Make sure you pack a creamy leave-in conditioner for your trip and use it religiously every morning. Using an anti-frizz serum will help bring unruly curls to heel. It coats the hair shaft with silicone, not only sealing the cuticle but also weighing the hair down a little.
If your hair is really frizzy, try working some serum through it while it is still wet before blow-drying. This should add some weight to the curls and seal the cuticles so that your hair does not absorb water, swell and frizz again as it dries. If you decide to go with the flow and make the most of your curls while you're away, mix gel and serum together in the palm of your hand and apply it throughout the hair to give the curls extra definition and shape.

How to Style Poofy Hair

How to Style Poofy Hair

Put down that flat iron! It's only making your poofy hair worse!

Steps

1. If your hair naturally curly, you should stop washing it with shampoos that contain sodium laureth/lauryl & ammonium laureth/lauryl sulfate, they dry out the hair terribly, making your hair puffier, and bigger.
2. Use a wide toothed comb to detangle hair when wet.
3. Use a good moisturzing conditioner.
4. If you can, try not to use silicones, they build up on the hair, and you need sulfates to remove them, which dry out your hair. Any ingredient that ends in -cone or -xane is a silicone. (Some common ones are dimethicone, cylmethicone, and amodimethicone. Amodimethicone is a lot easier to remove)
5. Use a a diffuser if you blowdry your hair.
6. If you do shampoo, use ones with ingredients like these: Apricotamidopropyl Betaine and Cocoamidapropyl Betaine. Activate makes a good one.
7. DON'T TOUCH YOUR HAIR WHILE IT'S DRYING! Touching it will make it frizzy. Plus, it will make your hair expand.

Tips* Don't flat iron your hair, it's one of the worst things you can do!* If you want your curls to look a little looser, try putting a clip at then end of it while it dries, it weighs it down.* Try getting the book, "Curly Girl" by Lorriane Massey, it's excellent.Warnings * Don't put the blow dryer on high because sometimes the diffuser will pop off and could hit your head. Always use the warm or cool setting.
